Team Points Structure
Each team’s round score = combined points of both drivers.
Standard individual race points remain unchanged.
Team Championship standings are calculated separately from the Driver Championship.
**Standard Absence Rule**
If one teammate does not start the race:
The absent driver will receive the points awarded to the position immediately behind the last classified finisher.
This is considered a “virtual last-place” finish.
Example:
16 drivers are classified.
P16 earns 5 points.
The absent driver receives the P17 value (the next step down in the points scale).
This guarantees:
No driver who shows up is outscored by someone absent.
The team is penalized appropriately.
The championship remains competitive.
If you don’t show, you finish behind everyone who did.
🕒**One-Time 24 Hour Protected Absence**
Each team is allowed one protected absence per season.
To use it:
The team must notify league management at least 24 hours before race start.
The absent driver will receive 50% of their teammate’s earned race points (rounded down).
This rule:
Protects teams from legitimate real-life conflicts.
Prevents abuse with a strict 24-hour declaration requirement.
Can only be used once per season per team.
Failure to notify within 24 hours defaults to the Standard Absence Rule.
**Team Attendance Bonus**
If both teammates start the race, the team will receive:
+4 Team Championship bonus points
This rewards:
Commitment
Communication
Reliability
Full-team participation
Showing up matters.
