Rules and Procedures

Welcome to Season 2 of Positive Perception LMU, an exciting 6-round championship featuring Le Mans Hypercar (LMH) and Le Mans GT3 (LMGT3) classes in Le Mans Ultimate (LMU). Whether you're a returning competitor or new to the series, this championship offers thrilling, close-quarters racing, streamed live on the Positive Perception YouTube channel.

Series Overview

Classes and Categories: Drivers will compete in either the Le Mans Hypercar (LMH) or Le Mans GT3 (LMGT3) classes.

  • LMH: Split into PRO and SILVER categories.

  • LMGT3: Split into PRO/AM and AM categories. Separate points will be scored for categories as well as overall within the class.

Entry Restrictions:

  • Only returning drivers who have previously scored points in PRO or SILVER in Positive Perception's ACC leagues are eligible for LMH entries or LMGT3 PRO/AM entries.

  • Newcomers and unclassified drivers will be restricted to LMGT3 AM entries for Season 2.

  • All above restrictions can be overridden by admin at their discretion.

Event Schedule: Each event consists of:

  • 19:00 UK – 30-minute Free Practice 1 (FP1)

  • 19:35 UK – 20-minute solo Qualifying

  • 20:00 UK – 60-minute Race

Tracks and Dates:

  • Round 1 – Imola (06/06/2025)

  • Round 2 – Sao Paulo (19/06/2025)

  • Round 3 – COTA (03/07/2025)

  • Round 4 – Sebring (17/07/2025)

  • Round 5 – Le Mans (31/07/2025)

  • Round 6 – Spa (14/08/2025)

Note: DLC content will be required for any tracks marked as DLC.

Practice Server

There will be no permanent practice server for this series. Drivers are encouraged to practice offline to avoid external hosting costs.

However, there will be a timed official practice session held on the Wednesday evening before each race:

  • Server opens at 19:30 UK time

  • Session duration: 2 hours

  • Maximum server capacity: 20 drivers

This practice session will follow standard race server settings to allow drivers to prepare under realistic conditions.

General Rules

Car Selection:

  • Drivers must select a car from either LMH or LMGT3 at the start of the season.

  • Drivers are allowed one car change per season, subject to a 50-point deduction from both category and overall standings. Car changes must be submitted at least 1 hour before server start time.

Attendance:

  • Drivers unable to attend must sign out on SimGrid at least 1 hour before the event.

  • Failure to sign out may result in removal from the grid and replacement from the reserve list.

  • Drivers may miss a maximum of two events per season.

Track Limits and Racing Etiquette:

  • Stay within track limits (white lines) unless avoiding an incident.

  • Any advantage gained through contact must be redressed immediately.

  • Respectful racing is expected at all times.

  • Extra caution is required on lap one due to cold tyres (no tyre warmers modelled).

Pit Stops:

  • Pit lane entry, exit lines, and speed limits must be strictly observed.

  • Drivers are responsible for understanding the pit rules and server settings for each round.

In-Game Chat:

  • Text chat is prohibited during live sessions until all cars have finished.

  • Violations may result in penalties.

Weather Settings:

  • Race weather conditions will be announced ahead of each round.

Race Start:

  • The race will begin with an in-game rolling start using the automated LMU system.

Stewarding

Post-Race Stewarding:

  • All incidents will be reviewed after each race by a panel of three appointed stewards.

  • Stewarding will be conducted fairly and thoroughly, reflecting LMU's status as our primary competitive sim platform.

  • Drivers are encouraged to review incidents carefully before submitting a protest.

Protests:

  • Protests must be submitted via the provided form within 24 hours after the race.

  • Protests should include:

    • Time and location of the incident

    • Competitors involved

    • A clear and concise explanation of what occurred

Penalties: To maintain clean and respectful racing, the following penalties may be applied:

  • Warnings

  • Race Licence Penalty Points

  • Race Position Penalties

  • Championship Points Deductions

  • Race Disqualifications

  • Race Bans

  • Championship Bans

Drivers who accumulate 6 penalty points may face a race ban. Penalty points can be reduced by completing two consecutive clean races without incidents.

Points System

Points are awarded for both category and overall standings as follows: 1st – 30 pts, 2nd – 26 pts, 3rd – 24 pts, 4th – 22 pts, 5th – 20 pts, 6th – 19 pts, ... down to 1 point for 25th place.

  • Championship standings will be based on a driver’s best 5 results out of the 6 rounds.

  • Tiebreakers will be resolved by highest single-round score, followed by qualifying averages.
